Hypocrisy and Anti-AntiSemitism

In the wake of a horrific machete assault in Monsey, New York on a rabbi’s home, the state’s governor, Andrew Cuomo stated: “This is a national phenomenon that we are seeing. It is frightening and it is disturbing. If anyone thinks that something poisonous is not going on in this country, then they are in denial frankly…”

The words are appropriate, but they were also a study in hypocrisy. The governor is a leading standard bearer of the Democrat Left, a political movement which openly espouses anti-Israel and anti-Jewish views.

In New York State’s Hudson Valley, Rep. Antonio Delgado, (D-NY) has blasted Israel with false accusations.  He has not been rebuked by his party. Consider also former Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, who was the Democrat candidate for governor in Florida. Gillum is a staunch supporter of groups that push the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. The Obama Administration opened the door to both hard-left policies and anti-Israel sentiments, dramatically replacing America’s support for both Israel and moderate Arab states with support for Iran and the Moslem Brotherhood.

A study by the AMCHA Initiative found that “Israel-related harassment increased by 70% from 71 in 2017 to 121 in 2018. Antisemitic acts involving the singling out of Jewish and pro-Israel students and groups for personal vilification more than doubled, with a tripling of expression falsely implying these students or groups are linked to ‘white supremacy.’ Antisemitic acts involving the unfair treatment of Jewish and pro-Israel students or attempts to exclude them from campus activities more than doubled, with expression calling for the total boycott or exclusion of Zionist students or expression from campus life nearly tripling.”

The anti-Semitism of prominent members of the Democrat Party is illustrated by Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), who, among other biased acts, posted an anti-Semitic political cartoon. A Daily Mail article .noted that the cartoon’s illustrator, Carlos Latuff, is known for creating anti-Semitic images.

Jonathon Marks, writing for Commentary magazine, notes that “Democrats… seem determined to hold on to those who do Jews harm.”

But canadian viagra professional http://www.midwayfire.com/documents.asp for most small retailers, the value proposition extends far beyond prices or merchandise assortments. The bias against both Jewish individuals and the Jewish state has reached an unprecedented level within the Democrat Party. Nation of Islam head Louis Farrakhan has compared Jews to termites, and his history of ties with former Democrat National Committee Deputy Chair (and current Minnesota Attorney General) Keith Ellison is undeniable.

But it doesn’t end there.

The new anti-Semitism is broader than the traditional ethnically-based hatred that history is all too familiar with.  It contains the seeds of the broader Progressive/Left’s disdain and hatred for all religion. A devotion to religious principles means that individuals see a higher power than government, a belief that the Left, which places the power of government on a solitary pedestal above individual rights, cannot tolerate.

The problem is not surprising.  As the Democratic Party moves towards socialism, it takes on the traits historically common to socialist regimes. The Soviet Union was anti-Semitic from its inception. The trait was at the core of the National Socialist (Nazi) regime of Hitler’s Germany. An Adam Smith study found that “Anti-Semitism has formed a key part of Chavismo, Hugo Chávez’s political ideology, and is now maintained by Chávez’s successor Nicholas Maduro. From the early days of his presidency, Chávez targeted Venezuela’s small Jewish community with abuse and sought to push them out of Venezuela. This was despite the absence of any anti-Semitic tradition in Venezuelan culture, which was always welcoming towards its Jewish population. When Chávez came to power in 1999, 30,000 Jews lived in Venezuela. Now only an estimated 5,000 remain after two decades of persecution.”

Many Americans may be unaware of the Leftist Democrat’s growing bias against Jews because key information outlets refuse to cover the problem. While left-leaning Twitter goes to great lengths to find excuses to censor conservative-leaning writers, it refused to object to Farrakhan’s tweet comparing Jews to termites.

The Left’s Success May Be It’s Undoing

The success Progressives have enjoyed on several fronts may be their undoing. 2019 may, despite of or even because of those successes, prove to be the start of the reversal of the left-wing paradigm.

The Left has dominated the media’s coverage of America’s economic picture. However, despite dire predictions of economic disaster following President Trump’s election in 2016, the U.S. economy has surged ahead, freed of the high taxes, excess regulations, and timid trade policies of the Obama Administration.  Stocks posted their best January in thirty years. The Bureau of Labor Statistics issued an excellent January jobs report, indicating that jobs, particularly those in the manufacturing sector, have rebounded. Additionally, thanks to a rejection of restrictions, The U.S. has become a net exporter of energy, further shoring up the financial picture.

The Democrat’s overwhelming obsession with abortion without limits is garnering increased opposition.  New York State adopted a measure which essentially justifies infanticide, allowing the destruction of a fully formed, completely viable baby up to the moment of birth. Even while celebrating the victory, many observers realized that the extreme nature of the new law would strengthen opposition to the abortion without limits cause. Virginia attempted to pass a similar piece of legislation, but failed to do so.

In New Jersey, the LGBTQ movement, a bastion of the Progressive movement, has similarly overreached.  ABC reports that “New Jersey has become the second state in the nation after California to pass a law requiring schools to teach LGBT history in their classrooms. Under the new measure, public schools must include lessons about the political, economic and social contributions of the LGBT community.” De-emphasizing the teaching of U.S. history which the educational establishment has done, while increasing concentration on this topic may result in substantial blowback.

Two openly anti-Israel Progressives, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, took their place in Congress this year. Combined with other Democrats( such as Keith Ellison who has served as vice-chair of the Democratic National Committee) they have essentially mainstreamed the left’s anti-Semitism. A crucial constituency of the Democrat Party, Jewish voters may well become increasingly alienated. Catholics, too are becoming a target of key Democrats. Senators It helps considerably in increasing the sperm http://downtownsault.org/downtown/nightlife/zims/ viagra samples count in males. Still, there are getting viagra products that even though can’t enlarged, still can make your life more enjoyable. It has long been a Democrat Party mantra that claims of voter fraud have been untrue, levied essentially as a means to suppress leftist voting blocks, a position the media generally favors. But on January 25, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton reported that “…about 95,000 individuals identified by the Department of Public Safety as non-U.S. citizens have a matching voter registration record in Texas, and roughly 58,000 of them have voted in one or more Texas elections…” Judicial Watch reports that “The integrity of our elections is under systematic assault by leftist activists and politicians whose objective is clearly to manipulate the elections for their own gain… And as Judicial Watch uncovers more and more evidence of the breadth and scale of this effort, it is becoming clear that the objective of what we are seeing is to get leftist candidates elected.”

The left’s advocacy of open borders, its’ attempts to downplay the “caravans” and its staunch opposition to border safeguards is beginning to wear thin in the face of facts. A dramatic combination of crime, cost, health, and population data may begin to convince the U.S. population that illegal immigration is presenting a dangerous and unaffordable challenge to the nation.

As socialism becomes more dominant in the Democratic Party and a key part of the Progressive identity, the manifest failures and dangers of that political philosophy become more evident.  Despite the clear disasters caused by the implementation of socialism throughout the world, American socialists continue to push the idea.  The latest example of how socialism ruins a nation, Venezuela, may finally awake the public to how bad an idea it really is.

Two Women’s Groups Exposed for Partisanship, Anti-Semitism

Will 2019 be the year in which the “Bait and Switch” that characterizes the activities of organizations that purport to represent female interests be widely exposed?

Clearly, there are indications that the long-ignored problem within the movement, portions of which have served more as a thinly disguised partisan front for left-wing causes, are finally becoming more apparent.

The National Organization of Women (NOW) and the Women’s March on Washington in particular are the subject of increased scrutiny.

There can be little doubt that the most pressing danger facing females today is the abuse, slavery, and murder they receive at the hands of Islamic extremists.  Reports of the horrors women face are clear, well documented, and abundant. However, as “Hannah,” a courageous Tunisian young woman, a Fulbright scholar and an earnest advocate for equal rights in her homeland stated on the Vernuccio/Novak radio program, “No one seems to care for these women.  The so-called ‘sex jihad’ which justifies the treatment of women—especially young girls, as property and the ‘spoils of war’ is virtually ignored by some western organizations that claim to represent women.” (Due to continuing threats on her life by the Moslem Brotherhood, “Hannah’s” real name cannot be disclosed.)

Despite this reality, The National Organization for Women  continues to generally overlook this most fundamental of all matters affecting women.

What does it concentrate on? A review of its website  over the past several years discussed enthusiasm for a variety of issues that had little relationship to discrimination against women.  N.O.W’s political contributions have been given in an approximately 50-1 ratio to Democrats over Republicans, an overtly partisan figure.
The active pharmaceutical ingredient in Kamagra is the best online medication that works http://www.slovak-republic.org/residence/permanent/comment-page-1/ cheap levitra in naturally bringing back the sexual passion. In order to solve this problem, Ajanta Pharmaceuticals has introduced extremely effective formula known as price viagra. The active component Tadalafil then inhibits PDE-5 and undermines its functioning. achat viagra pfizer
The Women’s March has an even more troubling problem. The Washington Examiner  exposed the co-chair of the organization, Linda Sarsour, “as an enabler of sexual assault after one of her previous employees shared her story of working for her at the Arab American Association in 2009… Asmi Fathelbab, the alleged victim, is Muslim and now 37 years old. She told the Daily Caller that after complaining to Sarsour about a man in her office building groping and sexually harassing her, she was immediately dismissed and even fat-shamed. Sarsour has  advocated for Sharia law, which essentially treats females as mere property.

The peculiar relationship between the Women’s March and radical Islam is truly disturbing. The Hill recently reported that the organization’s Chicago chapter cancelled its scheduled January rally following complications from the revelation about the group’s ties to Nation of Islam leader, and noted anti-Semite, Louis Farrakhan. The news apparently discouraged volunteers, rendering the event untenable.

According to Tablet magazine’s Leah McSweeney and Jacob Siegell “According to several sources, it was there—in the first hours of the first meeting for what would become the Women’s March… something happened that was so shameful to many of those who witnessed it, they chose to bury it like a family secret. Almost two years would pass before anyone present would speak about it. It was there that, as the women were opening up about their backgrounds and personal investments in creating a resistance movement to Trump, Perez and Mallory allegedly first asserted that Jewish people bore a special collective responsibility as exploiters of black and brown people—and even, according to a close secondhand source, claimed that Jews were proven to have been leaders of the American slave trade. These are canards popularized by The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jewsa book published by Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam—’the bible of the new anti-Semitism,’ according to Henry Louis Gates Jr., who noted in 1992: ‘Among significant sectors of the black community, this brief has become a credo of a new philosophy of black self-affirmation.’ To this day, Mallory and Bland deny any such statements were ever uttered, either at the first meeting or at Mallory’s apartment.”

Note a key fact about the Tablet article.  In addition to the blatant anti-Semitism, the overt political bias—resistance to Trump—is a key element of the Women’s March movement, another indication that the organization, like several other similar groups, is more concerned with partisan politics than women’s issues.

Banning the Truth

The weird concept of banning any discussion that could potentially offend anyone, which originated on college campuses and has now spread across the internet and other media is neither harmless nor random.

It is not a coincidence that the proponents of the silencing concept are advocates of philosophies and politics that have a long history of failure and oppression, and which serve to disunite the American nation. Revealing those facts, along with the tainted motives of those endorsing limiting First Amendment rights is certainly inconvenient for the progressives and leftists that seek so diligently to avoid exposure.

The most self-evident of the various issues which some seek to ban honest analysis of is immigration.  Serious review of the merits of essentially open borders (and, yes, that is what the left desires) is cut off by unfounded claims that those arguing for rational policies are racists, anti-immigrant, and therefore their ideas should be ostracized from the public square.

Not having substantive border controls clearly leads to danger on multiple fronts, including the introduction of contagious diseases, admission of criminal gangs such as MS-13, penetration by terrorists masquerading as economic refugees, and extraordinary expense to federal, state and local governments. Legal residents with limited means endure serious competition for housing, jobs, and fair pay.

Why do open borders have so many advocates, when those threats exist? Take a quick look at those who want open borders, and why.

Politically, Democrats profit. New entrants to the nation, by a very large majority, vote for their party because in general they campaign on promising more public assistance of various forms for new arrivals. Progressives not only  look the other way when new arrivals vote illegally, but facilitate the commission of it, as California has done with the provision of drivers licenses to illegals and as various local legislatures do by providing voting rights to them in local elections.

Silicon valley tycoons (and related internet giants) and Wall Street plutocrats love extensive immigration, legal and illegal.  They profit tremendously by the far lower salaries they can pay newcomers.
People with diabates can be viagra properien check content now cultivated type two diabetes signs, even when they may be during nominal management. Most of the citrulline is said to be in the rind but new studies have proven otherwise. order cialis online The most commonly employed drug is sildenafil (female viagra pill look here). Disclose your entire health record to the general practitioner prior viagra cialis initiating the course.
But  factual discussion of these realities get drowned out by charges of being racist or anti-immigrant. One internet behemoth decided to ban any use of the legally accurate term of “illegal immigrant.”

Turn to another failed concept, in which attempts to disclose facts are silenced far too frequently. Socialism, in every incarnation, has failed miserably whenever and wherever it has been tried, for a century. But America’s leftist-dominated educational system continues to warp facts about the reality that socialism has failed universally, and invariably results in enlarging poverty and knocking down individual liberties. The Progressive establishment on college campuses would be rebelled against by students if the history of this totalitarian concept was laid bare.

An ancient wrongdoing that proponents frequently seek to avoid honest analysis of, and which continues to be perpetuated, is one that has a long and horrible pedigree. Anti-Semitism has been a staple of history. It has taken many forms, from the religious discrimination of prior centuries to ethnic persecution which reached its worst expression in the National Socialist government of Adolf Hitler. By the way, the fact that “Nazi” is shorthand for the Third Reich’s National Socialist regime is one which  advocates of socialism scrupulously ignore.

The modern form of anti-Semitism wears the camouflage of miscasting Israeli actions as being oppressive.  The tiny nation awash in a sea of enemies has been the target of attempted extermination by hostile regional neighbors since its founding.  It has endured both major military assaults as well as constant terrorist threats, including rocketry  attacks from Palestinian territory and elsewhere. Palestinians could have had a deal providing them with almost all of their desires, but their leaders turned it down in an attempt to preserve their ability to rob their own people. The Obama Administration sought to alienate the U.S. from its Israeli ally, a symptom of the anti-Semitism of the left that the media turns its attention away from.

The list could go on and on, but the strategy is already clear: defend failed, self-serving and oppressive policies by cutting off the debate that exposes its true nature. When countervailing ideas cannot be contained, engage in personal attacks against those exposing the key truths.

The Left’s Escalating War on Religion

It has been portrayed that Democrat fury over the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh reached its fevered pitch after receiving the allegation (unsubstantiated and uncorroborated) of the nominees’ alleged teen-years sexual misdeed. That is incorrect.

The decision to use every tactic to oppose Kavanaugh, or someone like him, occurred far earlier than the receipt in July of Professor Ford’s 36-year-old claim.  While the firepower is aimed at this particular nominee, it is actually just one battlefield in the larger war against an entire segment of American society by Progressives.

It is tempting to point to the anti-Catholic inclination of the Left as the prime motive for the extreme reaction to Kavanaugh, and that would be correct, but only partially. Kavanaugh, with his history of religious devotion and parochial school education, may be viewed by Progressives as the “stereotypical Catholic” and therefore associated with anti-abortion sentiments.

It is not merely coincidental that California Senator Diane Feinstein was the center of the Kavanaugh controversy. In September of 2017, she vehemently opposed the nomination of Notre Dame law professor Amy Coney Barrett to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. In a stunning round of questioning, Senator Dick Durbin asked the nominee “Do you consider yourself an Orthodox Catholic,” an inappropriate query which was followed by the even more offensive comment by Senator Feinstein that “The [Catholic] dogma lives loudly within you, and that’s of concern.”

But the Left’s deep distaste of jurists with potential anti-Roe v. Wade sentiments is only part of the story.

A dedication to the end of abusive practices against women cannot be cited as the sole reason for the fury.  The long history of abusive against women by Democrats such as the late Ted Kennedy and the current vice-chair of the Democrat National Committee, Keith Ellison, have gone almost wholly un-noted by Progressives.  And of course, the numerous and deadly serious acts by Bill Clinton continue to be shockingly excused by the Left, including groups that theoretically exist solely to advance women’s rights. Progressive groups such as the “Women’s March on Washington” have accepted at the top of their leadership circle Linda Sarsour, an advocate of Sharia Law which treats females as property.

As socialism becomes increasingly mainstream within the Democrat party, the inherent anti-religious sentiment of that political philosophy becomes more pronounced. It is reflected equally in the growing anti-Israel and anti-Semitic leadership of the Democrat National Committee, and the numerous progressive groups that stridently advocate for the “BDS“(boycott, disinvestment and sanctions) movement against Israel.

Top-down political systems are traditionally jealous of any source of influence over constituents that do not derive from the ruling center.  That is why regimes that act to restrict religious freedom are also generally allergic to freedom of the press, as well. Socialism is, by its very nature, top-down.  The choices made by the prevailing powers that are backed up by the full force of the state, if opposed on moral or philosophical grounds, call into question the entire rationale for the collectivist governments’ near monopolistic hold on power.

The blatant implications that practicing Roman Catholics can’t be trusted with high judicial posts, or that Jews are to blame for all the problems in the Middle East, have increasingly become staples of the Left. Those foul premises are couched in excuses such as abortion or Palestinian nationhood, but those are mere covers for a far deeper and wider-ranging distaste of main stream Americans, and the individualism that characterizes the American character.

Progressives haven’t been satisfied with their successes in social issues. They believe in the necessity of punishing those who adhere to traditional values.

Bias in the Media, and on the Streets, Part 2

We conclude our report on the odd media coverage of the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, and the growing problem of Anti-Semitism.

It is not coincidental that, as leftist influence grows greater both within the Democrat Party and academia, anti-Semitism gains. In both Europe and the United States, leftist politics has had a long flirtation with this form of bias. Philip Spencer, writing in The Guardian, notes that “The shame of antisemitism on the left has a long, malign history… The current antisemitism crisis on the left has not come out of nowhere. Instead, it has its roots in a tradition on the left itself, which, at best, has always had difficulty in responding swiftly to antisemitism and, at worst, excused or condoned, even promoted it… This first became a serious problem on the left in the late 19th century, as antisemitism first became a political force in the modern world. Some on the left flirted with the response that there might be something progressive about antisemitism: that it was a kind of anti-capitalism, however crude, which could be harnessed to the socialist cause.”

In Europe, writes Qanta A. Ahmed in National Review, the extraordinary wave of Muslim immigration from nations with a long history of anti-Israel, anti-Semitism has reinvigorated the problem. “Islamist anti-Semitism courses through Europe’s Muslim migrant communities. No country has been affected by this frightening development more than France, which in 2015 alone saw the Charlie Hebdo massacre, the killings at a kosher supermarket a few days later, and then the Bataclan shooting. Less recognized is the steady onslaught of lethal anti-Semitism on Europe’s streets, claiming one Jewish life at a time. The rise in French anti-Semitism is undeniable. Knoll was the eleventh French Jew to be murdered in twelve years. New York Times columnist Bari Weiss places the murders in context: French Jews are less than 1 percent of the country’s population, but 51 percent of racist attacks in France in 2014 were against Jews.”

France 24 notes that “a string of anti-Semitic killings in France…have caused increasing alarm in the country’s Jewish community. ‘Since 2000, there’s been a rise in anti-Semitism in France,’ said Robert Ejnas, executive director of CRIF, an umbrella organisation of French Jewish groups…”

RT News notes that “In an interview with Israeli TV, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, much-maligned for her open-door immigration policy, has said Germany is facing a new form of anti-Semitism from refugees and people of Arab origin. We now have another phenomenon, as we have refugees or people of Arab origin who bring another form of anti-Semitism into the country… No Jewish nursery, no school, and no synagogue can be left without police protection…’”

The Gatestone Institute’s Yves Mamou asks “Has Europe Even Tried to Fight Anti-Semitism? Each time an anti-Semitic attack in Europe receives media attention, politicians rush to condemn it. But verbal condemnations alone change nothing. Anti-Semitism just gets bigger. The European Union has adopted anti-Israel policies out of fear of upsetting Muslims, but this fear of upsetting Muslims has been fueling Muslim anti-Semitism… On one side, they condemn anti-Semitism but on other, they are just whipping it up.”

The Clarion Project reports that A “letter was drafted by former Charlie Hebdo editor Philippe Val. Signatories included former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, actor Gerard Depardieu, former Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve, former Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe, Chief Rabbi Haim Korsia, five imams and singers Charles Aznavour and Francoise Hardy. The letter explicitly identified the threat as emanating from ‘radical Islamists’ in specific predominantly immigrant Muslim communities. ‘French Jews are 25 times more at risk of being attacked than their fellow Muslim citizens,’  the letter continued. ‘Ten percent of the Jewish citizens of the [Paris region], meaning about 50,000 people, have recently had to change their residence because they were no longer safe in certain neighborhoods and because their children could no longer attend government schools. This involves quiet ethnic cleansing.’ This is not the first time such concerns are being raised. Dr. Guy Milliere, a lecturer at the University of Paris, wrote a policy paper for the Gatestone Institute earlier this year, noting that the Jewish population of France has dropped from 500,000 in 2000 to 400,000 today. In addition, he explained that Jews have been driven out of certain neighborhoods by extremely anti-Semitic Muslim gangs. ‘Graffiti was spray painted on Jewish-owned homes calling on the owners to ‘flee immediately’ if they want to live and anonymous letters containing live bullets were sent to Jewish mailboxes,’ he wrote.”

There is an upswing in anti-Semitic violence in the United States, as well. An ADL study found that those incidents in the U.S. surged more than one-third in 2016 and jumped 86 percent in the first quarter of 2017.

Bias in the Media, and on the Streets

The plague of religious persecution survives despite all the lessons of history.  It does so under ever-changing guises, employing excuses that defy truth, logic, and basic human decency. The depredations of terrorist organization such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and ISIS against Jews, Christians and even other Moslems who define their faith differently have been well documented.

The danger, however, is not restricted to the embattled Middle East. In both Europe and the United States, in different degrees, anti-Semitism is once again increasingly part of the political environment. Some of this can be seen in news reports about the Middle East. At other times, it can also be seen on the streets of Europe and the political comments of certain officials, predominately on the Left.

Media coverage of the opening of the United States Embassy in Jerusalem concentrated substantially on the Palestinian demonstrations and the lack of support by European nations, rather than the fact that this move was authorized by Congress in the 1995, and supported by Presidents Clinton, Bush (43) and Obama, and simply reflects the reality of where a sovereign nation chooses to place its government headquarters. The move did nothing to change the status quo, either in the city with its separate Israeli and Palestinian sections, or in the control of the religious and historical sites.

In two separate reports, the Free Beacon pointed out key news items much of the media  downplayed. The first involved an Iranian organization, the “Iranian Justice Seeker Student Movement,” which has offered a $100,000 reward to any person who bombs the embassy. The second is that those Palestinian demonstrators were far from peaceful. What has been described as “light weapons” were possessed by some.

Bizarrely, the Free Beacon notes, “NBC News reporter Matt Bradley on Monday called Palestinian protesters in the Gaza Strip ‘unarmed’ before immediately acknowledging they ‘had some light weapons,’ adding they were ‘not peacefully demonstrating’ but were peaceful in comparison to the more heavily armed Israeli military… On the day of the U.S. embassy opening in Jerusalem, violent demonstrators urged on by Hamas, the terrorist group in control of Gaza, sought to breach the fence to penetrate Israeli territory…Bradley took a stridently pro-Palestinian tone in his coverage, saying the Israelis should not have felt threatened by the violent demonstrations. One Palestinian told the Washington Post that he would try to kill people if he got into Israel.”

According to the Anti-Defamation League, (ADL) a minimum of approximately 4.2 million English language anti-Semitic tweets were disseminated between January 29, 2017 and January 28, 2018. That should come as no surprise.  In the spheres of both academia and leftist politics, that type of thinking has become somewhat mainstreamed. ADL also found, as Inside Higher Education reports, that “2017 saw 204 anti-Semitic incidents on college campuses, an 89 percent increase from the previous year.”

It should come as no surprise. The acceptance of those sympathetic to anti-Semitism has become notable within the Democrat Party, particularly in the ascension of Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minnesota) as Deputy Chair of the Democratic National Committee. Ellison has close ties to America’s leading anti-Semite, Louis Farrakhan, and has attended a private dinner with Iranian President Hassan Rohani.

WTOP News reported that Democrat D.C. City Councilman Trayon White “ignited a firestorm on March 16 by posting a short video on his Facebook page claiming that an unexpected snowfall was because of ‘the Rothschilds controlling the climate to create natural disasters.’ Fellow council members and Jewish community leaders accused White of spreading an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory about Jewish control of world events. The Rothschilds, a prominent Jewish family whose banking dynasty dates back to the 18th century, are a frequent target of global conspiracy theories.” A D.C. city official featured a city official who said that all Jews were ‘termites.”

The Report Concludes Monday

Anti-Semitism and the U.S. Left, Part 2

The New York Analysis of Policy and Government continues its three-part examination of the growing acceptance of anti-Semitism by the Left and Progressives.

College campuses have become breeding grounds for the anti-Semitic Left. The Observer  notes that “United against Israel, activists for LGBTQ rights, gender equality and anti-war efforts, joined by Black Lives Matter, have been hijacked by anti-Israel student groups who not only attack the Jewish state, but do so under the guise of their new code word for demonizing Jews—Zionists.

Anthony Berteaux, writing in The Tower reports: “the campus progressives…weren’t only ignoring anti-Semitism and attacks on Jewish identity—they were sometimes the ones perpetuating it…it was the progressive students…who were the propagators of ancient hatreds against the Jewish people.”

Despite engaging in the Progressive concept of “safe spaces” and fighting against “micro-aggressions” in speech, the left-leaning world of college campuses have become increasingly hostile to Jews.

The Observer notes: “Anti-Semitic activity on college campuses with the largest Jewish undergraduate enrollment drastically increased during the first half of 2016 compared to the same time last year, reports anti-Semitism watchdog group AMCHA Initiative.

“After examining over 100 public and private colleges and universities from January through June of 2016, the study found 287 anti-Semitic incidents occurred at 64 schools, compared to 198 occurrences that took place during the same time last year, reflecting a 45 percent increase. ‘The growing problem of campus anti-Semitism is no doubt a serious threat facing the Jewish community. But this disturbing and dangerous spike and the bolder, more brazen methods of those perpetrating this hate are particularly alarming,’ warned Tammi Rossman-Benjamin, AMCHA Initiative director and co-founder. Suppression of free speech is among the more disturbing trends revealed in the study. The report cites ‘14 incidents in which Jewish students’ civil rights were violated by suppressing their speech, blocking their movement or hindering their assembly. Found on 12 campuses, these incidents reflect a significant increase from the first half of 2015, in which eight incidents of suppression occurred on seven campuses.”

The College Fix notes that “500 University of California alumni joined over twenty organizations in requesting that UC President Janet Napolitano “adopt a number of measures to rein in anti-Semitic acts against students…of anti-religious hate crimes in the United States, the vast majority are anti-Jewish, easily outpacing anti-Muslim incidents (even in 2001, the year of the 9/11 attacks) despite the latter garnering more mainstream media coverage…One would think that one of the  most oppressed peoples of all time — Jews — would be revered by progressives. But Jews have made, and continue to make, the “big mistake” — they’ve dare(d), over the centuries, to overcome their oppression, discrimination … and even attempted extermination.”

Michael Lumish, writing in the Jewish Press notes that “the western progressive-left has made a home of itself for malicious anti-Semitic anti-Zionists… calls for anti-Jewish violence tend to be supported not only by other progressive-left students, but also by sympathetic university administrators who could hardly care less that students are calling for violence against Jews on their very own campuses.”

While anti-Semitism has an unfortunately long and bloody history, the version committed by Leftist/Progressives in the United States is different. During the Obama presidency, a stunning change in attitude towards religious freedom—as well as other First Amendment rights—became manifest.  This change was most clearly expressed in a 2016 report by the United States Commission on Civil Rights .

The Committee Chair, Martin R. Castro, expressed a clearly hostile attitude towards religious freedom.  In the report, he stated:

“The phrases ‘religious liberty’ and ‘religious freedom’ will stand for nothing except hypocrisy so long as they remain code words for discrimination, intolerance, racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, Christian supremacy or any form of intolerance.”

The Report concludes tomorrow.

Anti-Semitism and the U.S. Left

The New York Analysis of Policy and Government begins a three-part examination of the growing acceptance of anti-Semitism by Leftists and Progressives in the United States.

Anti-Semitism has become acceptable to the American Left.  It is occasionally masked as merely being sympathetic to the cause of the Palestinians, but that is only camouflage.

Anti-Semitic incidents rose in 2015 by 3%, according to the Anti-Defamation League.  The organization’s 2016 statistics are also expected to be disturbing. But it is not just in reportable, specific crimes that the trouble manifests itself.

The reality and political power of modern anti-Semitism in the political Left is clear, and one need look no further than the recent race for national leadership of the Democrat Party itself for evidence. Keith Ellison, a member of Congress from Minnesota, came extremely close to being elected head of the DNC. His past association with anti-Semites, and his statements that U.S. foreign policy is “governed” by Jewish interests should be noted.

In a Haaretz article generally sympathetic to Ellison, Michael Olenick, “a Jewish student who clashed with Ellison and who was the opinions editor at the [Minnesota Daily, the student newspaper], recalled Ellison maintaining that an oppressed group could not be racist toward Jews because Jews were themselves oppressors. ‘European white Jews are trying to oppress minorities all over the world,’ Olenick remembers Ellison arguing. Keith would go on all the time about ‘Jewish slave traders.’”

A Daily Caller examination of Ellison notes:

“… a 33-year-old Ellison read aloud that he was there to ‘support the truth’ of [Joanne Jackson’s] alleged comment that ‘Jews are the most racist white people…in some Black areas, some exploitative shopkeepers are, yes, Jewish.’  In his 2006 campaign that ultimately won him his first term in Congress, Ellison received roughly $50,000 campaign contributions that were given or raised by officials of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which was spun off of Hamas front group Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP).  Several senior CAIR employees have been jailed and convicted for ties to terrorism, and IAP apparently shuttered in 2004 after it was found liable in a 2004 civil court case of supporting terrorist organization Hamas.”

Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) President Morton A. Klein, in a statement concerning Ellison’s leadership bid, noted: Ellison was a devotee and worked for anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan for many years… and co-sponsored anti-Semitic speeches by Kwame Ture entitled, “Zionism, Imperialism, White Supremacy or Both.” The anti-Israel smears in Ellison’s “Gaza 54” letter are still being used today to promote anti-Israel, anti-Semitic boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS), on the website of the leading [anti-Israel] BDS [boycott, disinvest, sanction] group in the U.S…Ellison also spouted “blame President Bush” 9/11 conspiracy theories.   Ellison analogized Bush’s prosecution of the war on terror to Hitler’s rise to power…”

Longtime Democrat party loyalist and legal scholar Alan Dershowitz had threatened to leave the party if Ellison was elected. Unfortunately, the problem didn’t end after the election. The new chair, Tom Perez, immediately named Ellison his top deputy.

The acceptance of anti-Semitism has extended to both the popular culture and academia.

The Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs  notes that “Political cartoons often have more of an immediate impact in reinforcing negative stereotypes about Jews than a lengthy essay…A yet uncharted field of hate cartoons against Jews is that in progressive blogs…Most of the progressive blogs…containing such anti-Semitic imagery cited in this essay generally fail to remove such hateful cartoons, despite blog policies expressly prohibiting posts that contain “hateful” or “inflammatory” content…A yet uncharted field of hate cartoons against Jews is…in progressive blogs. .. The cartoonist most frequently appearing on the progressive blogs analyzed…is an extreme left-wing political activist who [participated in the] … notorious Iranian Holocaust Cartoon Competition. …[this cartoonist has] a staggering amount of work dedicated to advancing explicitly anti-Semitic political imagery.”
