Freedom, Endangered

Both within the United States and across the Atlantic, attempts to overturn the results of free and fair ballots have been turned back, and those who perpetuated the move now face severe repercussions.

President Trump has instructed federal intelligence agencies to cooperate with the Department of Justice in the effort to uncover how false charges against his campaign, and the ensuing  investigation, came about.  There are deep-seated and well-founded concerns that the FBI and the CIA violated the law by engaging in highly partisan activities on behalf of the Clinton campaign. Substantial penalties may be incurred by those responsible.

Within the United Kingdom, a 2016 referendum which demonstrated the will of the British people to leave the European Union was essentially ignored by leading politicians, who concocted repeated schemes to ignore the practical results of the ballot. Prime Minister May will soon be forced to leave office as a result.

There is an important lesson to be learned from these two related incidents on opposite sides of the ocean within the two nations most closely associated with freedom. Constitutional safeguards and long-standing traditions do not guarantee that a government will abide by the will of the people, absent firm vigilance by the citizenry.

A counter-revolution against the legacy of personal freedom has dangerously arisen. It can be seen in as ascendancy of elitism within the European Union, and the rising prominence of socialism in the United States. It is evident in the disdain for free speech on university campuses, and the  abandonment by many key media outlets of their responsibility to serve as a conduit of objective information to a population that needs it to make electoral decisions.

While a few have pointed to the growing danger, far too many have remained apathetic, mistakenly convinced, despite the rising tide of authoritarianism, that the legacy of liberty is unassailable.

The flood tide of influence against individual freedom is overwhelming. Increasingly, academia scrounges for every anachronistic character flaw in the founding fathers and uses that in its ongoing diatribe against the philosophy they instituted, which has provided more freedom for more humans than anything else in history. Politicians on both sides of the Atlantic rely on every emotion of envy to attack capitalism and foster support for collectivist systems that never work but allow excuses for the reduction of individual rights.

And, looming over it all, is the hyper-partisanship of the left that willingly sacrifices bedrock principles if it results in any electoral gain. Senior Democratic Party officials have discussed abolishing keystone portions of America’s governing structure, including the electoral college and even the U.S. Senate because they believe they would gain an edge. They absurdly ignore the 100,000-plus illegal immigrants streaming across the border resulting in vast expense to the taxpayers as well as danger of crime, disease and terrorism because statistics indicate they would vote Democratic upon reaching citizenship. Those same party leaders vigorously oppose any safeguards against illegal voting so the illegals’ votes can be obtained even before that. The clear, obvious misdeeds of former Secretary of State Clinton, in Benghazi, email security, and the trading of the basic ingredient of nuclear weapons to the Russians in return for “contributions” to her foundation were blithely overlooked by the Justice Department under the belief that she would be the next president. In the same vein, during the Obama Administration, there was no punishment for Lois Lerner’s turning the IRS into a partisan attack machine, or Loretta Lynch’s discussion of criminally prosecuting organizations for merely disagreeing with Obama’s stance on climate change.

There are profound and escalating challenges facing the survival of freedom. They have been ignored for far too long.

Punishing Official Misdeeds

Far too little of the news coverage of what Obama and the Clinton campaign did during the election of 2016, and to the incoming Trump government, employs the correct language necessary to precisely and accurately describe what occurred.

What should be said is this:

The nation’s intelligence services and the Justice Department were used to attack the GOP campaign and subsequently the newly elected Administration, using as an excuse a false document developed and paid for by the Democrat campaign. This activity began when the perpetrators were convinced that a Clinton victory would shield them from any legal repercussions, and with the confidence that a biased media would neither research nor criticize these activities. This was a continuation of practices utilized during the Obama Administration, when federal agencies such as the IRS were used for partisan purposes.

The evidence has become overwhelming, and, if legal action is not taken, a dangerous legal precedent will be established that government officials are above the law. Key figures from both of the nation’s main intelligence services, the CIA and the FBI, have unlawfully used their positions to interfere with constitutional order and the electoral process.
Former FBI Director Comey, fired by Trump, has worked with organizations allied with the Clinton Foundation, a questionable background for an individual charged with running an extremely sensitive nonpartisan federal law enforcement agency.  former CIA Director John Brennan, who advised the Obama campaign, has urged federal officials to disobey the duly elected president if Mueller is dismissed. Daniel Disalvo, writing for Commentary  reports that “…parts of the U.S. intelligence community are knee-deep in political activity that should be off-limits to them…”

PJ Media’s Debra Heine reports that an FBI ‘Secret Society’ met the day after the 2016 election, as referenced by disgraced FBI officials Peter Strzok (who was also involved in covering up Hillary Clinton’s email scandal) and Lisa Page, to map out a strategy to attack the newly elected White House.

The reason for the unprecedented and desperate assault on a new administration is evident. The Justice Department, and the nation’s intelligence services, failed to take any action when a clear national security threat developed as Hillary Clinton and her foundation profited from the sale of the basic ingredient of nuclear weapons to the Russians. Further, no action was taken by the Justice Department when the Obama Administration gave a pass to the terrorist organization Hezbollah when it raised funds by selling drugs in the United States, because the President wanted to protect his negotiations with Iran on the nuclear deal, which fails to permanently restrain Tehran from developing nuclear weapons.

These days,ED medicines have become cost-effective way to treat the condition and allow enjoying sexual life to the fullest. cialis 20mg no prescription The condition is formerly known as erectile dysfunction generic cialis sample and is the wonder medicine to increase sexual vigor.
These failures, and the fear of legal repercussions resulting from them, explains the ardor and passion with which the Clinton campaign and Obama’s appointees and allies have fought so vigorously, using tactics that are illegal, against the Trump campaign and subsequent Administration. Serious misdeeds, from giving Hezbollah a pass to sell drugs, to the profiting from the sale of nuclear bomb ingredients to the Russians, have been exposed to investigation and prosecution by the unexpected victory of the GOP campaign.

And there is more. A coverup of the sale of weapons to Jihadists fighting the Syrian regime, an incident which probably provoked the Benghazi attack, could also be exposed. A Global Research analysis of a study by Aaron Klein explains:

The U.S. special mission in Benghazi and the nearby CIA annex were utilized in part to coordinate arms shipments to the jihadist rebels fighting the Syrian regime. The activities, which included a separate, unprecedented multi-million-dollar weapons collection effort from Libyan militias who did not want to give up their weapons, may have prompted the Sept. 11, 2012, attack.”

Providing weapons to Jihadists, who are terrorists, is a violation of federal law, (18 U.S. Code § 2339A – Providing material support to terrorists)  which could lead to criminal liability, including a 15 year prison term, for members of the former administration, including both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Florida)   has called for the  release of a memo and other information  from the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, including a memo held in the Congressional Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility that contained previously-undisclosed information involving the FBI and  the Department of Justice. Gaetz states: “The House must immediately make public the memo prepared by the Intelligence Committee regarding the FBI and the Department of Justice. The facts contained in this memo are jaw-dropping and demand full transparency. There is no higher priority than the release of this information to preserve our democracy.”

The danger to the nation is both from the breaking down of the rule of law by exempting senior government officials, both elected and appointed, from legal liability for their misdeeds, and to the physical safety of the nation itself. The desperation by partisan officials to distract and discredit the Trump Administration, or to at least develop a “bargaining chip” to trade if prosecution finally begins, is evident.

The lessons of Strzok and Ross

What has America learned from the revelations that FBI agent Peter Strzok, the No. 2 official in the agency’s counterintelligence division, and ABC News Chief Investigative Correspondent Brian Ross, abandoned their professional ethics as part of their disdain for the results of the 2016 election?

Critical observers have noted that the Obama Administration morphed America from being the planet’s “indispensable nation” to a power in full retreat with an increasingly hollow military. Its policies failed to allow the nation to truly recover from the recent recession, as had always happened in past economic crises. It worsened race relations, doubled the national debt, dramatically increased the cost of health insurance, and devastated middle class jobs.

It also changed the nature of American national government. Federal agencies such as the Department of Justice, the Internal Revenue Service, the EPA and even part of NASA and the NOAA were drafted into partisan service. Throughout all this, most of the media remained undeterred in their praise, even as errant federal officials violated ethical standards.

As a consequence, 2016 was a heady year for the GOP, as voters expressed their disagreement with these “fundamental changes” Obama promised and instituted, and rejected the media’s noncoverage of his failures.  Republicans won stunning victories in both state and national elections, gaining control of the White House, and holding on to majorities in the House and Senate. Republicans scored dramatically well in state elections, where they now have 34 governorships and control 32 state legislatures.

However, the progressive media has demonstrated differing views from the electorate. From news programs to comedy shows, the established news and entertainment barons and social media giants have, since the election, created a false sense of crisis throughout the nation. They are joined by what many call the “deep state,” federal careerists who resent having their business-as-usual failures and ethical shortcomings challenged by Donald Trump.

Both the D.C. bureaucrats and the media establishment share a desperate vulnerability. The inappropriate activities the leadership of federal agencies engaged in during the Obama years are, following the unexpected loss of Hillary Clinton, suddenly open to disclosure and potential punishment.

It tag on exactly the same principle as cheapest cialis canada . It is a problem that needs to be dealt with sensitively, as men pride themselves on their manhood and it hurts their women viagra online ego too. Atherosclerosis is when the artery narrows due to gathering of cholesterol on the cheapest viagra for sale artery wall. Erection-helping medicine is the best that helps men suffering from ED achieve erections. this is because it causes an upward improvement in the flow of blood from the cialis pfizer achat heart to the body) and Veins (that carry blood back to the heart). The actions of Strzok and Ross are responses to that vulnerability. Mueller’s team, which in any other instance would have been disqualified for partisanship, is an investigation in search of a crime.  Consider what the now key charge appears to be: members of Trump’s transition, including Michael Flynn and possibly Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law, contacted Russia in an attempt to get them to not vote against an ally of the U.S. in the United Nations.  Perhaps, in the mind of the hard left, sticking up for an American ally, particularly Israel, is a terrible thing to do; however, it is hardly illegal.

Attempts to portray this action as criminal is precisely in line with the pattern of behavior the Obama Administration engaged in for eight years.  Disagree with the president on fiscal matters, as the Tea Party did?  Face harassment by the IRS.  Oppose Obama’s views on climate change? In addition to then-attorney general Loretta Lynch announcing that she would seriously consider criminally prosecution for that, various left-wing state attorneys general engaged in legal harassment against those disssidents.

Meanwhile, the former Administration’s inappropriate surveillance of its political opposition, its outright falsehoods concerning Benghazi, its whispered promise to the Russians to pull back on missile defense (a particularly serious error, now that North Korea has the ability to reach the U.S. mainland with nuclear weapons), and the DNC’s fixing of the primary process to insure Clintons’ victory continue to be under-discussed by far too many in the press.

It is a historically familiar pattern.  Criminalize the act of opposition. Delegitimize election results with false charges.  Ignore your own sides wrongdoing. On that point, it remains stunning that no charges have been brought against Ms. Clinton for the act of selling the basic ingredient of nuclear weapons to an enemy nation in return for cash “contributions” to her foundation.

The establishment bureaucracy and their media allies continue to seek to protect themselves and divert attention from their failures through the harassment of the 2016 victors.  It’s a sad, but globally familiar tactic.

Hysteria vs. The White House: What’s Different This Time

The New York Analysis of Policy and Government places the media criticism of the Trump White House in perspective, and defines why the actions against the current White House are unique.

Pundits portray the extensive criticism of President Trump as an unusual event, an occurrence if not unprecedented than certainly unique in its extremity. The point a rather biased press seeks to convey is that, in their perception, the 45th President of The United States is an advocate of policies that are particularly dangerous, and hence inspires an exceptional level of condemnation.

It is a venerable historical tradition.

The bulk of the media banks heavily on its belief that the American public suffers with a minute lack of historical knowledge, and retains little memory beyond events of the past year or so. It is aided in this effort both by an academic curriculum that is woefully lacking in adequate teaching of U.S. history, and social media search engines that tend to downplay results that are contrary to the prevailing press mindset.

Media coverage of the Obama Administration was overwhelmingly favorable, indeed, almost fawning.  The limited exceptions included only conservative talk radio, Fox News, and a very limited number of other outlets.  This occurred despite that Administration’s extraordinary failures in foreign policy, its steps which prevented the U.S. economy from recovering from the Great Recession, the enhanced suffering of the middle class, its detrimental impact on race relations, and its unprecedented scandals,(including its use of the IRS to attack political opponents,) its attempts to ignore First Amendment protections (particularly in regard to those disagreeing with the White House on climate change,) its false statements in regard to Benghazi, and the bizarre sale of uranium interests to Russia.

But contrast that with what could accurately be described as the outright hatred displayed by the Fourth Estate for Obama’s immediate predecessor, George W. Bush.  It was so extreme that the term, Bush Derangement Syndrome, (BDS) was coined by the distinguished columnist and psychiatrist Charles Krauthammer. He defined BDS as “the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency — nay — the very existence of George W. Bush” … Krauthammer outlined how the attacks were based more on emotion than logic. In his book, “Things That Matter,” he cites examples of the level of hysteria reached by Bush opponents, including defining the 43rd President as a Frankenstein-like figure.

Today, President Ronald Reagan has become an iconic figure.  Although arguably one of the most conservative U.S. presidents, he is now regularly invoked by politicians of all stripes.  Even the most progressive president in U.S. history, Barack Obama, at times invoked Reagan’s example.  But it was not always so.  The media portrayed Reagan as likely to start World War Three, and, for good measure, also likely to destroy the U.S. economy.

Outlandish criticism is nothing new in presidential politics.

Perhaps the most salient example of over-the-top criticism of U.S. Presidents can be seen in the treatment of Abraham Lincoln.  The historical site Civil War.org  provides this example:

“’The illustrious Honest Old Abe has continued during the last week to make a fool of himself and to mortify and shame the intelligent people of this great nation. His speeches have demonstrated the fact that although originally a Herculean rail splitter and more lately a whimsical story teller and side splitter, he is no more capable of becoming a statesman, nay, even a moderate one, than the braying ass can become a noble lion. People now marvel how it came to pass that Mr. Lincoln should have been selected as the representative man of any party. His weak, wishy-washy, namby-pamby efforts, imbecile in matter, disgusting in manner, have made us the laughing stock of the whole world. The European powers will despise us because we have no better material out of which to make a President. The truth is, Lincoln is only a moderate lawyer and in the larger cities of the Union could pass for no more than a facetious pettifogger. Take him from his vocation and he loses even these small characteristics and indulges in simple twaddle which would disgrace a well bred school boy.’ this tirade was not the rant of a fire-eating secessionist editor in Richmond or New Orleans. It was the declaration of the Salem Advocate, a newspaper printed in Lincoln’s home ground of central Illinois…At the time he was sworn in, Lincoln’s ‘approval rating’ can be estimated by examining wintertime Republican losses in local elections in Brooklyn, Cincinnati, Cleveland and St. Louis, and state elections in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island; by the observations of Henry Adams (of the presidential Adamses) that ‘not a third of the House’ supported him; and by the published reckoning of the New York Herald that only 1 million of the 4.7 million who voted in November were still with him. All these indications put his support in the nation at about 25 percent — roughly equivalent to the lowest approval ratings recorded by modern-day polling.”

The Report Concludes Tomorrow.
