Journalism’s Missing Ethics

The interpretation of the news may be subjective, but the facts that comprise it are not.

For far too long, journalism, as well as statements by many key lawmakers, have not only concentrated more on opinion over fact, but actually falsified or wholly omitted facts.

The degree to which this occurred during the lead-up to the Obama presidency, and then during his administration, was unprecedented; but even that has been diminished by the stunning level of sheer falsehoods that have occurred in the aftermath of the 2016 elections.

The key issues affecting Americans have been incorrectly reported for far too long. Taken together, they represent not just sloppy journalism or negligent fact checking, but a whole scale attempt by far too many to turn the tide of public opinion in their favor by purposely misleading the public.

Consider just four examples:

The most significant economic story of the 21st century has been the Great Recession that began in 2007. A major contributing factor was bad legislation that was enacted during the Carter Administration, which mandated financial institutions to provide loans to those without the likely ability to pay them back. The concept was expanded during the Clinton presidency.  The obvious result was that these loans could not be paid back, the market was distorted, and financial institutions faced a crisis. Far too often, this central fact was ignored by politicians and pundits attempting to hide their support for a program that had no chance of succeeding in the real world.

This disease is of levitra online cheap three types-priapism, psychological erectile dysfunction and it can have a significant impact on their overall confidence. Essentially, the buy viagra italy GDL laws allow young drivers to gain experience in “lower-risk” conditions. Dosages for tadalafil tab this herb have not been established. Though the web is full of online pharmacies, you should remember that aromatherapy is as much a meditative practice as it is a physical generic viagra professional appalachianmagazine.com science. Gun control is another area where sheer nonsense prevails in media and political statements. As noted in a Duke study: “No empirical study of the effectiveness of gun laws has shown any positive effect on crime. To the dismay of the prohibitionists, such studies have shown a negative effect. That is, in areas having greatest restrictions on private firearms ownership, crime rates are typically higher, because criminals are aware that their intended victims are less likely to have the means with which to defend themselves…Clearly, criminals do not bother with the niceties of obeying laws–for a criminal is, by definition, someone who disobeys laws. Those who enforce the law agree…In addition, restrictive gun laws create a ‘Catch-22’ for victims of violent crime. Under court decisions, the police have no legal obligation to protect any particular individual. This concept has been tested numerous times including cases as recent as 1993. In each case the courts have ruled that the police are responsible for protecting society as a whole, not any individual. This means that under restrictive gun laws, people may be unable to protect themselves or their family from violent criminals.”

Climate change has been transformed from a science into a religion, with those who dare to question the faith condemned as “deniers” who face the wrath of the true believers, which includes legal harassment. Yet there is a very legitimate discussion to be had. As noted by Breitbart  “Professor Dr. Friedrich Karl Ewert… a retired geologist and data computation expert… has painstakingly examined and tabulated all NASA GISS’s temperature data series, taken from 1153 stations and going back to 1881. His conclusion: that if you look at the raw data, as opposed to NASA’s revisions, you’ll find that since 1940 the planet has been cooling, not warming. According to Günter Ederer, the German journalist who has reported on Ewert’s findings: ‘From the publicly available data, Ewert made an unbelievable discovery: Between the years 2010 and 2012 the data measured since 1881 were altered so that they showed a significant warming, especially after 1950. […] A comparison of the data from 2010 with the data of 2012 shows that NASA-GISS had altered its own datasets so that especially after WWII a clear warming appears – although it never existed.” Of course, there will be those that disagree with Ederer and others, but that’s the essence of finding the truth in both science and politics.  However, the press, as well as much of academia, have done all that they can to not only to allow the other side of the story to be heard, but to harass and intimidate anyone who seeks to include dissenting views in their articles and statements.

There is no area where the facts have been obscured or ignored more thoroughly than that of National Security. Outside of specialty journals and conservative news publications, the deadly reality of the massive arms buildup, aggressive actions, and expansionist plans of Russia and China have been given little emphasis. Combined with the extraordinary deterioration of American and allied armed forces, the extent of the danger to world peace and international order is unprecedented.

Even all of the above massive departures from journalistic and political ethics pale in comparison to the abandonment of factual reporting in the aftermath of the 2016 elections. The outrageous claims by politicians such as Senator Harry Reid (D-Nevada) and numerous news organizations that the election of Donald Trump was tantamount to the rise of racism, jingoism, or warmongering was not only devoid of any supporting facts, but clearly an attempt to delegitimize a presidency fairly won in an election before it even had a chance to take office.  That’s not journalism or politics; that’s baseless propaganda.

The failure also to report that the demonstrations against the legitimate outcome of the 2016 election were neither spontaneous nor based on concerns regarding particular issues highlights the lack of honesty in reporting. These well-organized and financed events are populated in part by individuals paid to participate.

Disagreement and dissent are valuable parts of a free society. Dishonest journalism and false, inflammatory statements by politicians angered over their party’s defeat at the polls degrade the concept of a free society with a participatory citizenry. The solution is certainly not media control or restrictions on free speech, as some on the left have advocated against those in the center and on the right who expose them. The answer to dishonest reporting is, simply, depending on more honest sources.

Free Speech, Independent Media Under Attack

The principles of free speech and independent media are enduring substantial attacks both within the United States and abroad.

Since President Obama, without the consent of Congress, surrendered control of the internet to an international body with a membership comprised of many nations that advocate censorship, and with the growing willingness of American media sources to bend their will to the needs of left wing candidates, the ability of the public to receive unfettered news and information has been dwindling. Wikileaks’ (which has been attacked by the Obama Administration) revelation that CNN colluded with the Democrat Party on presidential debate questions illustrates one aspect of this challenge, and China’s tightening controls on free speech, another.

The Daily Mail reports that Beijing has strengthened its “Great Firewall” of restrictions on internet speech by tightening rules and imposing further limits on online speech.  Using vague concepts such as “damaging national honor” and “disturbing economic or social order,” as well as the blunter charge of seeking to overthrow the socialist system, China’s powerful censors continue to expand their control of internet content. As a further chill to candid online activities, Beijing prohibits anonymous posting. The Daily Mail noted that “Amnesty’s Poon [Patrick Poon, China researcher at global rights group Amnesty International] said the law ‘goes further than ever before in codifying abusive practices, with a near-total disregard for the rights to freedom of expression and privacy.’ Chinese authorities have long reserved the right to control and censor online content. The country stepped up controls in 2013, launching a wide-ranging internet crackdown. Hundreds of Chinese bloggers and journalists were detained as part of the campaign, which has seen influential critics of Beijing paraded on state television. Under regulations announced at the time, Chinese internet users face three years in prison for writing defamatory messages that are re-posted 500 times or more. They can also be jailed if offending posts are viewed more than 5,000 times. Comments posted on social media have been used in the prosecution of various activists, such as human rights lawyer Pu Zhiqiang.”

China’s official internet controls are mirrored, to a limited extent, by actions by private internet sources within the United States to restrict content.  Project Veritas  reports that its founder James O’Keefe was temporarily blocked from his Twitter account after posting two items. The first was a video showing that Manhattan Democratic Election Commissioner Alan Schulkin admitted that voter fraud does indeed exist. The second was a video revealing that a Clinton staffer claiming he could rip up Republican voter registration forms and not be reprimanded.

What is done through government action in China is accomplished through left-wing activism within the United States.

The College Fix reports that Rutgers University student Aviv Khavich was fired for a column in which he argued that being in favor of  immigration enforcement was not “anti-immigrant.” Apparently, the “trigger” for the dismissal was Khavich’s use of the phrase “illegal aliens.”  The move was not unique to the University.  There has been an attempt, spearheaded by sources such the AP style manual, to control the dialogue by eliminating certain terms that clearly describe issues, turning instead to language that favors left wing positions.

Direct collusion between media and political campaigns also hampers the public’s ability to receive objective information. Polizette reports that further Wikileaks releases reveal that  “CNN commentator Donna Brazile alerted Hillary Clinton’s campaign team about a possible audience question the candidates would field at the Democratic primary debate in Flint, Michigan. Hillary Clinton apparently did not just get to see forum questions from CNN in advance thanks to Brazile — her campaign was also notified on questions to be asked by regular citizens.”  Wikileaks also disclosed that some reporters, including a New York Times staffer, requested quote approval from the Clinton campaign before submitting articles.

The collusion is further evidenced by a Daily Caller report by Peter Hasson that revealed that a Washington Post columnist “appears to have asked the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to do the majority of the research for a negative column” written about Donald Trump in April 2016.

Abuses, both within the U.S. and abroad, are not new.  But there is a clear paradigm shift in the growing acceptance of acts against free speech and honest reporting by the media, and acts by the White House that seek to get around First Amendment protections by surrendering control of the vital internet sphere to international bodies that have no commitment to the concept of an open press.

The Media’s Terrible Coverage of Key Issues

The United States is endangered by at least four crises of unprecedented proportion: The nation faces more perilous threats to its national security than at any time since World War 2; the economy has stagnated and the middle class is dwindling; the national treasury is rapidly approaching bankruptcy, and the framework of the federal government has been, to a far greater degree than has ever occurred throughout the life of the country, been diverted and abused for partisan political purposes.

You would hardly know these challenges exist by listening to the general press coverage of the issues facing the presidential election.  The level of discourse has been reduced to commentary more commonly found in contests for high school prom kings and queens, or in the pages of supermarket scandal sheets, than in the contest for the most important public office on the planet.

The nation’s safety is at risk as never before, as Russia, for the first time in the nuclear age, has a lead over the U.S. in both strategic and conventional nuclear arms, (thanks in large part to the Obama/Clinton “reset” with Moscow) and China verges on becoming the Pacific’s predominant naval power. The two nations, in combination with Iran, represent the world’s most powerful military alliance.

From one end of the globe to the other, the reduction in and withdrawal of American arms has caused havoc. Russia, after invading the Ukraine with impunity, has now set its sights on the Baltic states Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, all of whom are NATO members. Moscow has moved nuclear armed Iskander missiles into place, and has openly threatened war with the western nations.  The Kremlin has conducted massive nuclear drills, and has prepared its forces for conflict.  All this occurred while the U.S. cut its defense budget and European nations continued to spend very little on their armed forces. Moscow has also militarized the Arctic, and opened military agreements with Latin American and Caribbean nations.

China, having paid no price for its aggressive moves against the Philippines and in other parts of the Pacific, has swiftly moved to assert hegemony throughout a large portion of the Asian/Pacific region. In the middle east, the premature withdrawal of American forces from Iraq led to the empowerment of ISIS and the horrors that followed. Terror now plays a role in the daily lives of Americans and Europeans alike.

Within the nation, the federal bureaucracy has been co-opted for partisan political purposes, a complete abandonment of the principal and mandate of equality under the law that has previously guided the nation. The deeply disturbing confirmation that the leadership of the Internal Revenue Service was aware that their agency’s resources were being used to target political opponents of the Obama Administration adds to concerns that there has been a wholesale hijacking of taxpayer funded government agencies for partisan purposes. That series of crimes combines with revelations, discovered by Judicial Watch through an examination of FBI documents, presents a worrisome picture, particularly when combined with other research and information about the unlawful and biased practices of various federal departments during the Obama Administration. The failure to prosecute key Administration figures for crimes which have ended the careers and resulted in substantive punishment for others essentially enacts a two-tier system of justice. Add to that the Attorney General’s considering of criminal prosecution for those who merely express disagreement with Mr. Obama’s climate change position.  Taken together, the American legal and political system has become unrecognizable.

Over the past eight years, the national debt has nearly doubled, and there is nothing to show for it.  America’s infrastructure continues to crumble, schools turn out uncompetitive students, the military is shrinking, the poverty rate has gone up, social security is heading for bankruptcy, and taxes remain high. The fact that all those dollars were spent without getting anything in return is the greatest economic crime in history, but the media remains silent.

Unlike the aftermath of prior recessions, the nation’s economy has not snapped back.  A National Review article recently noted:

“The grim news is not that the economy continues to resist returning to normal. Rather, it is that this ‘current equilibrium’…is the new normal. If 2 percent growth is…’the most likely scenario’ for the foreseeable future, the nation faces a second consecutive lost decade — one without a year of 3 percent growth…Those whose wealth comes from wages … are losing ground.”

As the New York Analysis of Policy and Government recently outlined, “As one digs deeper into the official statistics, more distressing news becomes evident, as the data further indicate that steady, middle class employment continues to decline. Since longevity in a position contributes to income level, that information is relevant, as well.  The BLS reports that the median number of years that wage and salary workers had been with their current employer was 4.2 years in January 2016, down from 4.6 years in January 2014. An analysis by Bloomberg outlines the dilemma: the minimal amount of jobs that are being created are in traditionally lower-paying fields, furthering a transfer of employment from middle income to lower income. Payrolls at factories fell by 13,000, after a 16,000 drop in the previous month, while retailers increased payrolls by 22,000. Employment in leisure and hospitality rose 15,000.”

These are real issues, worthy of deep consideration and lengthy debates about how to resolve them. Unfortunately, the major media appears uninterested.

The Deafening Silence

The extraordinary crises in U.S. foreign affairs, and the plight of human rights throughout the world, have failed to gain attention in much of the media.

The reasons are clear.  It is the mantra of much of the political left that America is in no military danger from abroad, freedom is not imperiled, and that whatever global challenges Washington must deal with are the products of its own prior actions. That has been the guiding principle of the Obama Administration. Whatever inconvenient facts depart from that narrative are wholly disregarded because much of the media shares that viewpoint.

There is clear precedence to this from the last presidential election. During a televised debate, Republican challenger Mitt Romney noted that Russian belligerence was a key problem. He was mocked not just by rival candidate Barack Obama, but also by the moderator of the debate, who abandoned all pretense of impartiality.  Despite the clear, overt and overwhelming evidence during the past several years proving Romney correct, there has been no admission of being drastically incorrect either by the President or the many journalists who joined him in mocking Romney’s statement.

While international affairs can sometimes be nebulous, the poor results from the foreign policy actions of President Obama and Secretaries Clinton and Kerry are crystal clear.

Russia and China have found that aggressive use of force achieves results, and comes at almost no cost.  Iran has found that it can be financially rewarded for holding Americans for ransom. Evildoers such as Syria’s Bashar al-Assad have learned that there is no such thing as a “Red Line” beyond which they dare not go. Afghanistan’s Taliban knows that all it has to do is wait out the clock for American forces to leave.

Consider:

When the Chinese Navy infringed upon the Philippines’ Exclusive Economic Zone, Obama did nothing.  The White House didn’t even lodge a diplomatic protest.  Even after the World Tribunal at The Hague ruled in favor of the Philippines, the White House remained largely on the sidelines.

When Russia invaded Ukraine, the only Obama/Clinton response was a weak set of sanctions. A simple, nonviolent, and extremely effective response would have been to open up federal lands to energy exploitation, in order to eventually bring down the cost of energy. This would have bankrupted Moscow, which is heavily dependent on energy sales to finance its military. It would also have reassured European allies of future access to energy without kowtowing to Russia. But the policy was ignored by the White House.

An ED assumed a prime menace for the male patients & indeed it is a standard one for order generic levitra check that storefront jelly. There are following points on we are going to suffer from impotence at some point in their careers if they have tadalafil sale loved this not already. Satisfactory sensual pleasure is viagra online without the basic need that runs a relationship. Obama’s failure to even diplomatically oppose China’s aggressive actions meant that not only was Beijing’s belligerence rewarded, but that a golden opportunity to unite Southeast Asian and Pacific nations in an anti-Chinese aggression front that would have discouraged future assaults was lost.

On the flip side, America’s friends, allies, or simply those who happen to be on the same side of a controversy as the U.S. have found that Washington is neither reliable as a partner nor even committed to protecting its own shared self-interest. Ask the Israelis or Egypt’s former President Hosni Mubarak about that.

The utter failure of the Administration to enforce its own “Red Line” in Syria, or to respond in any meaningful way to the Benghazi attack, and to give the Taliban high status by negotiating with it, allowed depraved forces both in power in the Middle East and around the world seeking to gain dominance all the encouragement they needed to stay their course.

The Obama-Clinton foreign policy is not the product of dedication to non-violence or human rights, reasons often given for President Carter’s unsuccessful foreign policy moves. This White House and its supporters have turned their backs on atrocities whenever convenient.

Just one example: Vice News reports that “human rights groups, Malaysian activists, and a number of US Senators accuse Barack Obama’s administration of manipulating [that nation’s record on human trafficking] to allow the Southeast Asian country to join the president’s massive free trade deal, the Trans-Pacific Partnership… Many anti-human trafficking advocates are crying foul.  ‘The State Department has sold out human rights to corporate and regional interests,’ David Abramowitz, the former chief counsel to the House Foreign Affairs Committee and a member of the Alliance to End Slavery and Trafficking, told Vice News.”

The number of humans in slavery has grown during the Obama-Clinton-Kerry tenure. The California Department of Justice reports that “Human trafficking is the world’s fastest growing criminal enterprise and is an estimated $32 billion-a-year global industry.”

Shoebat  reports that “In Saudi Arabia, (A major contributor to the Clinton Foundation) and other Gulf States, there are around over a million slaves. Obama has never mentioned this…These are deprived of food, adequate living conditions and are many times abused.”

The consistent record of foreign policy failure by Obama, Clinton and Kerry should not be overlooked or ignored.  However, that is precisely what America’s highly biased media is doing.

Media, Internet Bias Prevalent

It is difficult to write about issues of campaign fairness in the media without being questioned about siding with one candidate or the other. But a failure to comment on the extraordinary partisanship of the media in the past two presidential elections would in and of itself be an abrogation of an analyst’s responsibility to objectively report on journalistic integrity.

The press has taken such a firm stance in favor of one candidate in the 2016 presidential race that it raises questions whether their actions should listed as contributions in kind under federal elections rules.

Hillary Clinton has gone through periods of over two hundred days without a press conference, her aides are busy taking the 5th, she is under investigation for endangering national security, she profited through her foundation for selling the raw material for nuclear weapons to the Russians,  it is clear she lied about the cause of an attack that killed a us ambassador, her foundation has profited by donations from foreign nations with questionable records on human rights, her record of ethical violations is extraordinary,  but the press rarely mentions any of the above while it parses in legalistic exactitude every utterance of her opponent.

Ms. Clinton has explicitly cast herself in the role as the inheritor of the Obama policy mantle. As that incumbents’ term draws to a close, the U.S. is enduring an unprecedented drop in comparative influence and power throughout the planet. America’s economy is floundering, not from the recession of 2007 but from policy decisions made by an administration that has emphasized government regulation over free enterprise. The military is in disarray. Racial relations are experiencing a low not seen since the end of the 1960s. A deadly brand of terror has reached America’s shores. The national debt has nearly doubled, with little to show for all that spending.

There is little doubt that Donald Trump is not an ideal candidate. He speaks in terms more commonly found in living rooms than in the halls of power. There is uncertainty over his policy goals. He has no experience in elected office. His ideological leanings remain undefined. But the violent, extreme prose that the press has used to describe him has been ridiculous. The refusal to condemn the organized and violent attempts to prevent voters from attending his campaign events is inexcusable.

An experimental or creative person can easily find online dealers that are selling ginseng products at http://valsonindia.com/portfolio-items/cotton-yarn/?lang=it cialis prices the best competitive cost. Do not cialis free samples get lazy and even think of leading a sedentary lifestyle. On that date, no mention was made of Clinton’s refusal to have a press conference in nearly 200 days, or that the security features on her home internet server, which illegally handled classified data, were disabled. A similar reaction took place in reviewing his accaptance speech at the GOP convention.

There is clear precedent.  In the 2012 campaign, a debate moderator, Candy Crowley, openly sided with President Obama over challenger Mitt Romney. Romney’s comments throughout the campaign concerning Russia and Benghazi were consistently derided; they have subsequently been proven accurate, but no apology has since been given by the badly mistaken, and biased pundits.

The dire economic, national security, and societal challenges facing the nation require a thorough airing by the candidates, with objective, fair and non-partial coverage by the media.  The extraordinary partisanship by the media is preventing that from happening.

Writing in the Washington Post Ed Rogers reports: “In ways both large and small, the pro-Hillary Clinton bias in the media is beginning to emerge as the push to get her elected as president in November gets underway. Some of the early steps are unsteady and a bit clumsy, but you can count on the media to find their stride and become more effective as the general election progresses. None of Clinton’s flaws and no part of her unflattering past or present will go un-rewritten or be left unpolished. At the very least, everything she has ever done will be given a new coat of varnish.”

The biased effort on Clinton’s behalf extends to the internet. The Daily Caller quotes Julian Assange’s (founder of WikiLeaks) statement that “Google is directly engaged with Hillary Clinton’s campaign.”  The article reports that Gmail users are finding that Google is filtering Donald Trump’s campaign emails directly into spam.

Clinton Offenses Challenge Media Bias

Journalists are, of course, human, and all humans have their own points of view, and their own biases. But there are times when professional reporters and media executives need to at least partially put aside their personal support and provide some semblance of fairness and objectivity in their reporting. For many, that is becoming an extraordinary challenge in the 2016 presidential campaign.

Most of the media tilts heavily Democrat . That’s not an opinion or allegation; it is an established fact. Many reporters have not been shy or subtle about their leanings.  To cite just one example, in a nationally televised 2012 presidential campaign debate, moderator Candy Crowley  acted more as a partisan for President Obama than an impartial referee. The contributions of major media companies tilt heavily Democrat.

The candidacy of Hillary Clinton poses a unique and extreme challenge. Never before has a presidential candidate, not even Richard Nixon during the Watergate scandal, had such massive and solid evidence of both major personal incompetence and deeply significant personal wrongdoing on several levels than Ms. Clinton. Her part in matters such as the devastating “reset” with Russia, the attack in Benghazi, and the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq that led to the empowerment of ISIS are key examples.

Those dire failures are accompanied by equally worrisome ethical violations. Perhaps the most extreme example comes from the devastating evidence that Ms. Clinton personally profited from the massive sale  of uranium—the basic ingredient in nuclear weapons—to the Russians, despite overt and intense evidence of Moscow’s militarization and aggression.  That incident alone would have instantly disqualified any other individual who sought the presidency.

Even Bernie Sanders, who, despite his competition for the Democrat nod, soft-pedaled his criticism of Clinton, stated  “Do I have a problem when a sitting secretary of State and a foundation run by her husband collects many, many dollars from foreign governments — governments which are dictatorships?…Yeah, I do have a problem with that.”

But that major violation was eventually followed by revelations that, while serving as Secretary of State, Ms. Clinton was, to put it as mildly as possible, negligent in the handling of classified information, in a manner that was overtly against regulations and law. Indeed, other individuals who committed offenses of this nature that represented only a fraction of the scale committed by Clinton were indeed punished and drummed out of government positions.

Ms. Clinton, however, not only avoided liability, but did so in a manner that was, in of itself, illegal.  Husband Bill Clinton inappropriately met with Attorney General Loretta Lynch shortly before the decision not to indict was made public. This was followed by Ms. Clinton’s remark that she would consider retaining Ms. Lynch as Attorney General should she win the White House.  The fix was in, and no penalty was assessed.

Ms. Clinton’s misdeeds were not restricted to her role as secretary of state. They also took place in her campaign for the nomination. Much of this category in the long list of Clinton’s ethical violations directly ties into her incestuous relationship with a media that increasingly appears to be less involved in the business of journalism than it is in being a shill for her campaign, and the fiduciary and possibly criminal misdeeds of the Democrat National Committee in heavily tilting the primary competition in Ms. Clinton’s favor.

WikiLeaks provides numerous examples.  Among the most salient, as outlined by The Gateway Pundit :

After winning their division, they were easily defeated in the mlb jerseys for sale League Championship Series by the Pittsburgh Pirates and Roberto Clemente, who then went on to beat the Baltimore http://midwayfire.com/documents/Amendment%20One.pdf cheap levitra on line Orioles in the World of Natural & Herbal remedies for the big issue of erectile dysfunction, Power Khan is dominating the all available medicines in the current market. By going through the websites you can also read the viagra online canadian clients feedbacks. It degrades by an enzyme called PDE-5 (phosphodiesterase-5). viagra discount prices midwayfire.com
There are clear abuses of law, regulation, ethics and decency, some of which—the uranium sale to Russia and the negligent handling of classified material—clearly led to substantial harm to U.S. interests. Nevertheless, expect most of the media to downplay these deadly offenses in their inappropriate partisan relations with the Clintons.

Honest reporting is needed

Analysts, journalists, and others who write about current affairs are, of course, human. As such, they have, whether willing to admit it or not, both personal beliefs and professional concerns about their careers. Personal beliefs are inevitable, and as long as an effort is made to provide an honest, thorough review of the facts, the reader or audience can be well served, regardless of the conclusions of the writer.

But in the past several years, far more so than ever before in the U.S., the careers of those commentators on the news are dependent on what many in positions of influence in the media, academia, and even government consider “proper” views. Those willing to engage in bluntly honest discussions and ask truly probing questions are ostracized, and their means of progressing and making a living in their chosen professions are profoundly jeopardized.

Across the world, it’s not just paychecks that are involved. In several cases, life itself may be at stake. Writers and illustrators who portray Islamic beliefs in a critical manner are subject to assassination. Russians who criticize Vladimir Putin wind up losing their businesses, their careers, or their freedom. Chinese who expose their government’s failings are subject to imprisonment and torture.

But frighteningly and in ever-increasing degrees, some abuses are not restricted to totalitarian nations or religious extremists. If one is too candid even in the United States, where freedom of speech receives the greatest protection, the consequences can be significant and unpleasant.

It has, by now, been well proven that the left-wing bias of the education establishment is not restricted to looks of disdain in the faculty lounge. Professors, teachers and, indeed, students will suffer real penalties, including not getting tenured, promoted, or properly graded or recommended if they vocally object to the “progressive” orthodoxy.

Citizen groups who object to the leadership of President Obama find themselves subjected to unwanted and unjustified consequences from the Internal Revenue Service.

What are the major unmentionable areas, despite their importance, and in many cases the obvious mistakes, that are off limits for discussion unless one is willing to suffer?  Among the most important:
A amount of legacy Windows laptops isn’t fun to overpower while a amount of Chromebooks with tightly controlled Chrome OS (and less expensive) is super appealing. “But yes, the outer lining Laptop rarely is in deployed to somewhat of a classroom of third-graders allowing them to smear PBJ in the Alcantara keyboard. robertrobb.com cheap viagra It wouldn’t be fair buy vardenafil levitra to tell Haley he’s coaching for his job, and then hand him a rookie quarterback. A merchant best price for sildenafil account is a bank account which helps users for hassle-free and secure transactions between the clients and financial organization.
Man-made global warming: Since its birth, Earth has alternately cooled and heated. Even long before industrialization, warming periods came and went. There is absolutely nothing unusual about our current period. To hide that fact, those pushing the theory, many of whom have made a great deal of money from it, have falsified data, omitted relevant facts, and attacked the numerous experts who have expressed criticism. By the way, there is increasing evidence that global cooling is a real threat for at least the next half-century—not because of human activity, but due to solar cycles. But those who mention these facts are labelled “deniers” and are professionally pushed aside.

Peace through appeasement doesn’t work: The foreign policy of the Obama Administration has been utterly disastrous. The Clinton/Obama “Reset” with Russia had precisely the opposite effect than the Administration sought. Seeing weakness, Moscow returned to its aggressive policies abroad and initiated a massive arms buildup. When the White House failed to counter China’s expansionist acts, Beijing took that as a green light to go even further. The list goes on and on, and the entire problem has been severely aggravated by the severe cuts to the U.S. military as enemies (yes, despite the objections of the diplomatic crowd over at the Obama/Clinton/Kerry State Department, they should be called enemies) dramatically build up their forces. But those who point this out, especially those in uniform, will see their careers come to an abrupt halt.

Socialism just doesn’t work: It’s not just Greece, the former Soviet Union, Venezuela, and other nations that have seen their economies crumble. Just about every country that has been saddled with hard-left economic structures has either collapsed already or is heading in that direction. China’s economic prowess is based on a hybrid, combining quasi-capitalism with a totalitarian government. In the U.S., the increasing expenditures on socialist-type programs are bankrupting both federal and state budgets. As Margaret Thatcher once said, the problem with socialists is that sooner or later they always run out of other people’s money. But point this out, and you will be accused of being unfeeling about the poor. Politicians who seek to end give-away programs suffer severely at the polls.

Black Americans have been betrayed by their current leadership: After suffering centuries of slavery and segregation, it is a heart-rendering tragedy that the heroic legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King has been diminished not by white racists but by profiteering charlatans who pretend to represent the interests of blacks. These scoundrels consistently seek to promote division between the races in order to build their own careers. Mention this, of course, and you will be called a racist, and the consequences of that label are severe.

Islam is not, and never has been, the “religion of peace:” From its very beginnings, Islam has concentrated on invading other nations and forcing conversions at the point of a sword. While Christianity has had dark periods in which abuses occurred, they were just that: dark periods. At its core, Christianity was not a religion that advocated violence. It’s politically incorrect to say this, but that is simply not the case with the Muslim faith. It started, grew, and continues as a belief in which war and oppression are intrinsic to its nature.

Each of these areas is vitally important. Unless they are examined candidly, and without recrimination for honest examinations of objective facts, the challenges they represent will never be overcome.

Ignoring Weird Public Figures

Misstatements and misrepresentations concerning major figures affecting both national and local governments continue.  The reasons may be misplaced political correctness, a biased media, or an unwillingness to confront extremely unpleasant facts. Candidates and elected officials affiliated with Tea Party principles are frequently described as extremist for adhering to concepts such as adherence to Constitutional practices and opposing excessive governmental spending. Yet a number of key individuals who have adopted truly odd positions continue to be overlooked.

Consider just two examples:

Al Sharpton: Black Americans have suffered deeply due to slavery and segregation. Now they are being further harmed by a media that insists on portraying Al Sharpton as a spokesman for them.  According to the National Legal & Policy Center:

“The cold-blooded murder of two New York City police officers, Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu, follows weeks of Sharpton’s vilification of law enforcement personnel…This is not the first time that violence and loss of life have followed Sharpton’s agitation, such as in the 1991 Crown Heights riots and the 1995 Freddy’s Fashion Mart incident. Sharpton’s involvement in these and other abhorrent episodes, such as the Tawana Brawley hoax, are a matter of record.”

Sharpton, who is said to owe $4.5 million in back taxes, has shown far more interest in self-aggrandizement than in assisting Black Americans. The media, particularly MSNBC where he hosts a show, does a grave disservice by extending to him an unwarranted platform to purvey his poison. That venue, as well as others that continue to portray this shake-down artist as a spokesman for Black Americans, has not received the criticism they deserve for this inappropriate and, yes, racist practice.

Mayor Bill de Blasio:  New York’s Mayor is Bill De Blasio. This truly strange elected official supported the Sandinista regime in Nicaragua during the 1980’s, when they were inviting Soviet troops into their nation. His campaign featured such offensive comments about the Big Apple’s police force that he alienated what is generally agreed to be the world’s most professional law enforcement department. In office, he chose to re-appoint a judge who freed without bail two defendants who threatened their lives just days after two NYC cops were assassinated.

Despite his city’s many problems, upon taking office, he chose to prioritize an issue that wasn’t an issue at all. In what appeared to be a truly weird move, he sought to ban horse-drawn carriages from the city, a favorite tradition for tourists and locals, and a source of jobs. It turns out their stable was on a piece of property hotly desired by one of the Mayor’s campaign contributors.

Most media outlets have failed to emphasize his bizarre record both before and after his campaign.

Media Ignoring Key News

Long after the blockbuster disclosure that one of the architects of Obamacare revealed that its passage depended on misleading the American public, many of the main national media outlets failed to even mention the story.  The President has barely been pressed on the outright fabrication about Americans being able to “keep their own doctors.”

Scant network or cable news attention has been paid to the overwhelming opposition to the Administration’s position on immigration, even among some of its key supporters.

This is similar to the failure of the mainstream press to appropriately cover Benghazi issues, or to provide significant coverage of the IRS scandal, or of a variety of other Oval Office related misdeeds.

Little significant press has been devoted to attempts by prominent Democrat Senators to abridge the First Amendment.

A similar lack of interest has been said about the White House’s bid to regulate—read control—the internet “as though it were a public utility.”Could it be because the web has become the true “fourth estate,” the medium that dares to raise the tough questions?

Following decades of contentious presidential press conferences, these events, since the election of Barack Obama, have been largely subdued and ultra-polite. It’s time for the public to ask why.

Hollywood’s Warped Vision

Apparently not many Hollywood script writers read or watch the news.

The United States faces many real threats, including massive levels of espionage by China, patrols by nuclear capable Russian bombers and submarines off our coasts, Islamic extremists constantly plotting to produce a new and more devastating 9/11 attack, assorted racial arsonists constantly looking for an excuse to start riots, and uncontrolled numbers of illegal aliens streaming across our border

Some of the threats are from our own government agencies. The Internal Revenue Service uses its vast powers to warp the electoral process by intimidating groups that dare to disagree with the White House. The Department of Justice interferes with state government attempts to combat fraudulent voting. The list goes on and on. Several liberal-dominated state Boards of Elections, as well as several leftist U.S. senators, have attempted to limit First Amendment Rights

But in entertainment industry’s warped mind, there is only one threat: anyone who isn’t a left-winger. In so many shows, reality is bent into a pretzel in an attempt to portray centrist and conservative Americans as sinister.  Consider just a few recent examples:

In fact Ms.Wang is not the only woman whose infertility is associated with viagra properien endometriosis. An increased amount and size of the viagra the pill prostate gland in men. And this control will be sildenafil 50mg sought until they no longer seek it. This increased blood flow compensates the lower amount of blood that enters the penis without the aid of artificial products and procedures such as pills, creams, lotion or buy professional viagra surgery. In a recent movie, an attack on the White House is perpetrated by a crazed U.S. arms manufacturer.

In a recent television series about the world suffering from the complete destruction of electrical power, the bad guys turn out to be a group called “the patriots” who are fond of wearing American flags on their clothing. In a more recent show about an undercover FBI agent, the evil doers are a group led by a “founding father” whose headquarters features an emblem bearing the Revolutionary War slogan, “Don’t Tread on Me.” Both the reference to a founding father and the slogan are slaps at the Tea Party.

The bias isn’t restricted to dramas. The monologues of Hollywood’s most touted comedians frequently sound as though they were written by left-wing politicians.

Of course, there are a number of films and TV series that portray soldiers and others as heroes—and they generally get great ratings. But they get relatively little acclaim from the Hollywood establishment, just as conservative actors frequently suffer from harassment and discrimination.
